EN:Let the train take the strain
A real insiders' tip among cyclists in Rhineland-Palatinate are the various scheduled train services and numerous seasonal heritage railways which allow you to travel in comfort from the valleys to the tops of the hills where you can start your cycle tour. These include the Hunsrückbahn between Boppard and Emmelshausen and the Brohltalbahn between Brohl and Engeln. On scheduled train services bikes are carried free of charge all day on weekends and public holidays, and after 9am on weekdays. Varying rules for cycle carriage apply in the different heritage railways.
